When it comes to the international standards of the charging pile industry, we need to consider the standard systems of different countries and regions, mainly including European Standard, American Standard and Japanese Standard. Here is some basic information about these standards:

1. European Standard

The standards adopted by the European charging pile industry are mainly formulated by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) and the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC). These standards usually begin with EN, such as EN 61851-1.

EN 61851-1: This is one of the European standards for electric vehicle charging piles. It stipulates the basic requirements for charging equipment, including safety, communication protocols and connection methods.

EN 62196: This standard covers the specifications of connectors and connector systems between electric vehicles and charging piles, ensuring the safety and compatibility of the charging process.

EN 50605: This standard is a communication protocol for electric vehicle charging piles, ensuring that charging equipment from different manufacturers can interoperate.

2. American Standard

The standards for the charging pile industry in the United States are formulated by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA).

ANSI C18.2: This standard defines the dimensions and electrical characteristics of electric vehicle charging plugs and receptacles to ensure interoperability of charging equipment.

NEMA WC 57: This standard specifies safety requirements for electric vehicle charging equipment, including waterproofing and environmental requirements.

SAE J1772: This is a standard developed by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), which specifies the connector and communication protocol between electric vehicles and charging piles.

3. Japanese Standard

Japan’s charging pile standards are formulated by the Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan (IEEJ) and other relevant organizations.

JEVS G105: This standard specifies the electrical performance and communication protocols of electric vehicle charging equipment to ensure the reliability and safety of the charging process.

JIS C 5131: This standard covers specifications and safety requirements for electric vehicle charging plugs and sockets.

These standards are developed to promote the development of the electric vehicle charging pile industry and improve the safety, interoperability and performance of equipment. Whether in Europe, the United States or Japan, compliance with relevant standards is crucial to ensure the quality and reliability of charging piles to support the spread and use of electric vehicles.
